Training Band

The Training Band opened up the band's concert at Synwell Playing Field on Friday 3rd June as part of Wotton's Jubilee celebrations.  Despite depleted numbers due to the dreaded Covid, the band put on an impressive show under the direction of their MD and tutor, Alan Swain.  Well done all - you did us proud!

Our Training Band was set up by Diane Ansell in 2010 and continues to be a great opportunity for learners of all levels to join together and play as part of a band. 

The engaging and entertaining Training Band rehearsals now follow our learner’s group on Monday evenings between 1830 and 1930 under the direction Alan Swain. The Band itself operates a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy in line with best practice.

There is no charge for the instrument, joining the band, music or for lessons. It’s all provided. We just ask for lots of enthusiasm, a willingness to learn something new and very importantly meet new friends!

If you decide to join, we ask for £3.00 per week for us to cover some of our costs. We like to receive these in advance for each term.

Please consider our invitation to come along and have fun. There is no obligation if you feel it’s not for you/your child. 

Access to our Bandroom is via a lane next to the bus shelter near the War Memorial at the bottom of Old Town. There is a small car park up this lane. The band room is through a black gate on the left part way up the lane. All will be clearly signed on the day.
