Unique Opportunity

Wotton Silver Band will teach your child a musical instrument at a fraction of the usual cost!

World-class tuition is provided by leading brass specialists.

We rehearse at the Renishaw Innovation Centre on Monday evenings.

Our tutor has worked with some of the greatest musicians ever! Including Yehudi Menhuin, Bryn Terfyl, Pierre Boulez and Rostopovitch. He has also played on many west end shows such as Evita, Oliver! and Scrooge; toured extensively around the world and has even played on Strictly Come Dancing.

2022

We have recently decided to start a learner’s group on Monday evenings between 1630 and 1745 and provide instruments for those wishing to learn.

We are fortunate to have engaged the services of  Alan Swain as tutor for the learners. The Band itself operates a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy in line with best practice.

Alan and Marcus would like to invite you and your child to try out an instrument. They are surprisingly easy to get started on.

There is no charge for the instrument, joining the band, music or for lessons. It’s all provided. We just ask for lots of enthusiasm, a willingness to learn something new and very importantly meet new friends!

If you decide to join, we ask for £3.00 per week for us to cover some of our costs. We like to receive these in advance for each term.

Please consider our invitation to come along and have fun and try out an instrument. There is no obligation if you feel it’s not for you/your child.

Access to our Bandroom is via a lane next to the bus shelter near the War Memorial at the bottom of Old Town. There is a small car park up this lane. The band room is through a black gate on the left part way up the lane. All will be clearly signed on the day.

To know more, or if you wish to come along for a trial, please contact Marcus Dunstan a couple of days  in advance on 07970 636280 or via email to learntoplay@wottonsilverband.co.uk
