Dennis Grant - Musical Director

Dennis started playing at the age of 9 under the late Ossie Adlam and soon moved to the City of Gloucester Band in the Championship Section under Eric Hopkins. After two years he became Principal Cornet and although the band underwent a number of name changes - Hawthorn Brewery, Message Maker and most recently Flowers - Dennis remained Principal Cornet until 1990. During these years he won many Solo, Quartet and major band competitions. He then began teaching and also conducting a training band for City of Gloucester Band. Dennis has also conducted Tewkesbury Band, Nailsworth Band and worked with Stinchcombe and Drybrook for a number of years. More recently, he conducted the Avon Bank Band for 7 years, presiding over the most successful period in the bands history. Prior to joining Wotton Band, Dennis had been conducting Shipston Town Band for 2 years.
